Why The Collegiate Academy?

“The Collegiate Academy provides supplemental educational support for Hartford students and their families. As a community based organization we provide a holistic approach to education for our Scholars.

Our Scholars take classes on the campus of Trinity College and are exposed to a wide curriculum that covers middle and high school classes as well as university course content. We supplement our students’ education in Math, Science, Literature, History, and Spanish by providing small classrooms, dedicated faculty, and exposure to academic content that students may not receive at their home institutions.

Through our Beyond The Books initiatives we also take our students on field trips to expand their cultural horizons. We approach education holistically and want our Scholars to be have access to museums, theater, creative workshops, outdoor activities, and sporting events in the greater Hartford area.

The HYS 10-year commitment is to get our Scholars to and through college. The Collegiate Academy is the beginning of this 10-year commitment as we prepare our students to have a scholarly commitment to their education and a deep love for their intellectual pursuits.”
