Parent Advisory Committee

The Hartford Youth Scholars Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) consists of a group of parents that are committed to furthering HYS’s reach.

Participants of the PAC whole-heartedly believe in Hartford Youth Scholars’ mission, and have children who have successfully completed the 26-month Preparation Component. PAC parents have demonstrated a level of engagement that suggests an interest in being involved in the volunteer group.

PAC meets bi-monthly and is charged with a variety of important tasks including, but not limited to:

Admissions, Outreach and Support:

Parents assist with coordination and facilitation of Family Informational Meetings, open houses and community outreach.

Event Planning and Support:

Parents assist with any special events that HYS is hosting for its families, donors, and other key stakeholders.

Program Evaluation:

Hartford Youth Scholars parents play a vital role in the success of our program. PAC members provide honest and helpful feedback that is necessary for HYS to deliver a program that is constantly improving to best serve the needs of Scholars.
